What are hyaluronic fillers?
Hyaluronic fillers are hyaluronic acid preparations that, when injected into specific areas of the face, add or restore lost volume. Hyaluronic acid is a natural polysaccharide and a key building block of the body's connective tissue, with the ability to bind water — creating volume, firmness and smoothness while supporting the collagen fibres.
The hyaluronic acid used in these fillers comes as a sterile, smooth gel that is ready for injection and is not of animal origin, which minimises the risk of an allergic reaction to the product.
What are hyaluronic fillers used for?
Hyaluronic fillers come in different densities — from light, fluid gels used to correct under-eye hollows and soften fine, shallow lines (crow's feet and so-called "smoker's" lines), through fillers for lip enhancement and nasolabial folds, to dense fillers placed in deeper layers to restore volume and contour the face, cheekbones, chin and jawline.
With age, the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin — and with it the skin's hydration — decreases, and the skin loses its glow and firmness. Ageing also affects the deeper tissues: the facial bones are resorbed and thin out, particularly the cheekbones and upper jaw. The fat pads in the cheeks and face thin and, under the pull of gravity, drift downwards, giving the face a tired, "deflated" look with pronounced dark under-eye hollows, nasolabial folds, so-called "smoker's" lines around the mouth, lines on the chin and so on.
Facial expressions, genetic factors and environmental influences (smoking, tanning beds, sun exposure…) all contribute to ageing too. Ageing cannot be stopped, but it can be significantly slowed.
Facial rejuvenation with hyaluronic fillers
The concept of rejuvenation with hyaluronic fillers has been evolving for decades, all with the aim of finding an ideal alternative to a surgical lift — which, despite excellent results, involves a long recovery after the operation. For most people today, given work, the pace of life and other commitments, that is simply not an option. This is exactly why rejuvenation with hyaluronic fillers delivers outstanding results with no downtime, so you can return to your everyday activities immediately after the procedure.
Drawing on a thorough understanding of anatomy and the anatomical changes that ageing brings to every tissue of the face, we first carry out an objective assessment. Then, based on your needs, wishes and possibilities, we design an individual aesthetic treatment plan to achieve the desired results while preserving a natural facial appearance.
For a good aesthetic result, it is essential that the doctor combines knowledge, the best injection technique and top-quality materials with a genuine sense of aesthetics.

What determines the choice of hyaluronic filler?
The choice of hyaluronic filler depends on the condition of the skin and the purpose the filler is intended for.
How long do hyaluronic fillers last?
Our body contains the enzyme hyaluronidase, which gradually breaks down both our own hyaluronic acid in the skin and the injected hyaluronic filler. Hyaluronic fillers last from 9 to 24 months, depending on the density of the filler as well as your general health, metabolism, skin condition, physical activity and lifestyle.
Is the procedure safe? Which products are used?
Alongside hyaluronic fillers, which the body breaks down with its own enzyme hyaluronidase, the market today also offers many non-degradable, cheap and unsafe fillers that the body cannot break down. In an attempt to fight them off, the body forms connective tissue around these permanent fillers, shifting them away from where they were injected. In many patients this leads to deformities, and the aesthetic result changes just a few years after the injection.
That is why, for your own safety, it is most important to use only registered hyaluronic fillers — which are natural components of the body — and to avoid permanent, non-degradable fillers.
When should this treatment be avoided?
Hyaluronic fillers should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or in cases of autoimmune and acute infectious diseases. In the week before the procedure, avoid medicines such as aspirin and other drugs that prolong bleeding time, as well as high doses of vitamin C.
